Mercury among reactive substances at Balti company

About 4 kg of mercury have been found on the territory of a joint stock company located in the municipality of Balti, Civil Protection and Emergencies Service spokeswoman Dorina Cruc has told Info-Prim Neo. The mercury was discovered during the inventorying of reactive substances at “Produse Alimentare” SA. It was packed in two hermetically closed retorts. Employees of the Balti Emergencies Department deposited the mercury in a safe place and ensured its guard. The mercury will be given to a specialized company for use. The mercury in large quantities is very toxic and can cause serious diseases.
