Mihai Ghimpu: I voted for finalization of initiated changes

The Liberal Party head Mihai Ghimpu marked his ballot at the polling place housed by “Nicolai Gogol” High School at 11.00. He was accompanied by his wife Dina Ghimpu and was in a good mood, Info-Prim Neo reports. Mihai Ghimpu expressed his regret at the fact that the curtains of the polling booth were not taken away, as the Central Election Commission recommended. “It is a good recommendation as the elections can be fixed in some of the polling places. The booth should be open so that the observers see what happens inside,” Mihai Ghimpu said after casting his vote. He also said that it was for the first time that he queued up for a ballot and this shows that the turnout is rather high. He stressed that he voted for finalizing the initiated changes so that things improved. “Everything should be gradually changed in Chisinau. We should not forget that we have a Soviet foundation as regards the roads, houses and everything,” said Mihai Ghimpu, adding he gave his vote to the most honest persons who want to really do something for Chisinau. Dina Ghimpu said that many things should be done steps by step. Asked if she does not want to go into politics, she said a politician in her family is enough. A number of 220 persons voted at the polling place inside “Nicolai Gogol” High School by 11.00. The electoral registers there include 1,278 persons.
