The Liberal Party chairman Mihai Ghimpu was summoned to the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) to be questioned as a witness in a criminal case started over illegal tapping of phones, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the party. On February 1, Mihai Ghimpu submitted a challenge to the PGO, the Security and Information Service, and the Parliament’s commission on national security, defense and public order, asking that they launch an investigation based on the statements of the Liberal-Democratic MP Valeriu Strelet, who said in a TV program that he possessed the recording of a telephone conservation between the former director of Moldsilva Forestry Agency Ion Lupu and Mihai Ghimpu, where the latter is informed about the December 23 hunting incident in the Domneasca Forest. The questioning will take place at the PGO on March 15. A man was wounded fatally during hunting in the Domneasca Forest on December 23. The leaders of the ruling parties said they found out about this incident from the media.
