The monthly minimum guaranteed income will be indexed twice a year – on April 1 and on October 1. The indexation coefficient on April 1 will represent the inflation rate for the second half of the previous year, while on October 1 – the inflation rate for the first half of the current year. The Cabinet approved relevant amendments to the regulations on the setting and payment of social welfare on July 8, IPN reports.
The amendments stipulate measures in support of families with children. It is planned to increase the monthly guaranteed income from 50% to 75% calculated for each child. In nominal value, this will be a rise of 276.75 lei for a child when determining the right to social welfare and of 608.85 lei when determining the right to cold-month allowances.
