Minister of Culture Boris Focsa admitted that he drank alcoholic beverages on January 7, when it is celebrated Christmas according to the old calendar, but insists that he wasn’t driving the car by which he came to the medical unit located on Tiraspol St, where there was his consultant Dumitru Acris, who was detained for driving under the influence, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Traffic Police Division issued a communiqué, saying that Boris Focsa came to the medical unit at about 03.00. He said he wanted to find out information about the case of his consultant. The Traffic Police employee felt smell of alcohol and asked him to have a breath test. Initially, the official refused to do it, but then accepted, admitting he drank alcoholic beverages. Boris Focsa’s councilor Dumitru Acris was stopped at 23.10, on January 6. The Traffic Police inspector saw that the driver had an inappropriate behavior and felt smell of alcohol. The breath test showed he was drunk. The Traffic Police Division announced it will send the materials over Boris Focsa to the prosecution bodies for examination to see if there was an attempt of traffic of influence. Dumitru Acris may be banned from driving for a period of three years and faces a fine of up to 13,000 lei.
