The Ministry of Education wants to develop a radically changed methodology for next year’s baccalaureate session. “We won’t allow answers to tests to appear on social networks in 5, 10 or 20 minutes”, promised Minister of Education Mihail Sleahtitchi, Info-Prim Neo reports. The statement was made during the talk-show “Moldova live” on public TV channel Moldova 1. The Minister admitted that the 2011-2012 BAC session was a difficult one and it brought to surface many unpleasant things. However, he remarked this was the first year when society managed to talk about corruption and cheating so openly and firmly. Blogger Eugen Luchianiuc expressed skepticism about the Ministry’s initiative to modify the examination methodology. According to him, regardless of the measures against corruption and cheating, these will remain rooted in schools because the creativity of pupils determined to get good grades will overcome any methodology. In this year’s BAC session, 8 heads of baccalaureate centers were sacked for allowing violations and banned from their position for 5 years and one of them for life. A BAC center secretary and 70 assistants were also fired and banned for 3-5 years.
