The Ministry of the Interior provided details about the decision to declare the chairman of the unionist platform “Actiunea 2012” George Simion as undesirable person and to expel him. In a communique, the Ministry says the decision was taken on May 13 based on materials concerning the citizen of Romania Simion George-Nicolae, accumulated by the Bureau for Migrating and Asylum, IPN reports.
“We inform that under Article 55 of the Law No. 200 of 2010, the national authorities can take the decision to declare a foreigner persona non grata as a preventive measure against a foreign person who carried out, is carrying out or is justifiably suspected of carrying out activities that can endanger the national security,” reads the communique.
Members of the unionist platform “Actiunea 2012” told a news conference that they are indignant at such a decision. The young people described this act as abuse on the part of the authorities, aimed at intimidating them before the demonstration in favor of the Union planned to be staged in the Great National Assembly Square.
