Moldova’s Ministry of the Interior could follow Georgia’s example in implementing the police reform. The statement belongs to Minister of the Interior Dorin Recean, who mentioned that, in essence, this is what is currently happening, reports Info-Prim Neo.
“There is such a possibility. In essence, this is what is happening. In the reorganizing process absolutely everyone is placed outside of staff status, after which a very thorough selection procedure will follow. It is not excluded that we will have impurities even afterwards, but we will have a new system that identifies them promptly and creates conditions for their inexistence”, said Dorin Recean.
The Minister stated that presently the Ministry of the Interior is undergoing functional analysis, and a new organizational chart will have been presented by the end of this month, and respectively, the transition plan from one organizational chart to the other will be implemented.
Dorin Recean stated that there were several evaluations until now, and as result, today, August 2, several penalties and warnings were given today during a meeting with district commissars. Riscani District Commissar Valentin Cucos also received a penalty, along with several employees of the same commissariat. According to the Minister, the aforementioned will be fired upon one violation.
“Until we get to the management of risks, incidents and so on, we must take care of internal discipline, and we started off from it. There is not sufficient internal discipline in this commissariat; consequently, we took these preventive measures, and will see what follows. It is a signal and a clear warning on respecting internal regulation, internal discipline and the realization of the objectives that are have already been set”, stated the Minister.
The Minister does not exclude eventual dismissals, specifying that only people who pass the integrity and efficiency test will remain in the system.
