The public TV channel Moldova 1 celebrates 53 years of its foundation on April 30. On this occasion, it will stage a number of activities in the square of God’s Birth Cathedral in central Chisinau.
Moldova 1 director Angela Sarbu has told Info-Prim Neo that the anniversary will be marked among the people. The orchestra and choir of the public broadcaster Teleradio-Moldova will give a performance in the square starting at 1pm.
”We will also hold the open-doors day. During four hours, we will be discussing with the viewers in the square,” said Angela Sarbu. The winners of the contest “Show me the world through your eyes” will be awarded in the central park. Within the contest, there were selected the most interesting pictures filmed by viewers.
Throughout the day, Moldova 1 will broadcast programs about persons involved in making TV programs as well as cognitive programs and movies. “We will air the best we have,” said Angela Sarbu.
The national television channel was founded on April 30, 1958. The first Moldovan TV programs were broadcast that year. They appeared 2–3 times a week by 2–3 hours a day. In 1996, the daily volume of programs was 13 hours. This figure is now 24 hours.
