The Chisinau Court based in Buiucani district issued a warrant for the arrest of the vice president of the Administration Committee of Moldova Agroindbank Oleg Paingu for 30 days. The information was confirmed for IPN by the press officer of the National Anticorruption Center Angela Starinski.
The banker was arrested on April 3 on charges of abuse of power. According to preliminary investigation results, abusing his position, Oleg Paingu instructed his inferiors to allow unauthorized persons to fraudulently mange the bank accounts of the National Bureau of Motor Insurers, which suffered thus damage of almost 15 million lei.
