Since the beginning of the Russian Federation’s aggression against Ukraine, in February 2022, Ukraine has been in great need of help. When the war ends, Ukraine will also need to be supported in order to be able to re-establish the foundations of a free and prosperous country. The Republic of Moldova can play an essential role in the post-war reconstruction. Opportunities can be created both for companies that want to invest in Ukraine and for Ukrainian companies that want to make the most of the opportunities offered by the chosen European, said participants in a conference entitled “Reconstruction of Ukraine. The role of the Republic of Moldova” that was held today in Chisinau, IPN reports.

Boris Foca, president of the Moldova-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that the damage caused to Ukraine so far amounts to hundreds of billions of dollars. An increasing number of experts believe that the Republic of Moldova will play a crucial role in the reconstruction of Ukraine in the post-war period. “Moldova has 17 land border crossing points with Ukraine and offers the best conditions for the location of production and storage spaces for products of strategic importance for Ukraine – pipes, generators, transformers,” stated Boris Foca.

The president of the Association of Romanian Investors in the Republic of Moldova Dan Nuțiu said that since the Russian Federation started its aggression, the democratic countries, including Romania, have stood by Ukraine. Likewise, when the war ends, Ukraine will have to be supported. “It offers us to create opportunities both for companies that want to invest in Ukraine and for Ukrainian companies that want to make the most of the opportunities offered by the European path they have chosen,” stated Dan Nuțiu.

The conference was staged by the Moldova-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Italian-Moldovan Chamber of Commerce, the France-Moldova Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Association of Romanian Investors. Similar conferences are to be organized in Romania, Italy and France
