Moldova closer to London Olympics

The National Olympic Committee confirmed that Moldova will take part in the London 2012 Olympic Games. The Committee’s head Nicolae Jurvaschi on October 25 signed the invitation that came from the International Olympic Committee. “This participation is significant for us. Moldova becomes known through sport and the Olympic movement,” said Nicolae Jurvaschi. The event was attended by the British Ambassador to Moldova Keith Shannon, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sport Octavian Bodisteanu and partners and sponsors of the National Olympic Committee. The 30th Olympic Games will take place in London between July 27 and August 12, 2012.
