Moldova comes 137th in FIFA rankings

The national football team of Moldova slipped nine spots in the FIFA world country rankings released on February 14, Info-Prim Neo reports. Moldova takes the 137th position with 228 points. The fall is due to the 1-3 defeat suffered this month in the match against Kazakhstan. Among Moldova’s opponents in the 2014 World Champ qualifiers, England has the best rating – 4th place. Montenegro climbed to the 29th spot, Ukraine and Poland fell to the 46th and, respectively, 59th positions, while San Marino remains the last – 207th. Burkina Faso made a spectacular jump of 37 spots to the 55th. Equatorial Guinea slipped 34 positions, to the 107th. Spain, Germany and Argentina head the rankings. Moldova’s national squad will play the next matches of the 2014 World Champ qualifiers on March 22 and 26, against Montenegro and Ukraine.
