The Republic of Moldova has passed the level of 160,000 infections with the novel coronavirus after 282 new cases were confirmed on February 1. The death toll from COVID-19 rose to 3,446 after eight new deaths were reported today, IPN reports.
According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, the 282 new cases were confirmed after doing 1,382 tests, 1,169 of which were primary ones, while the rest were rerun ones. Of those confirmed with the infection today, 15 are healthcare workers.
Of the 2,394 patients with COVID-19 who are now in hospitals, 249 are in a very serious state and 42 of them were put on a ventilator.
Over 3,000 persons with mild or moderate forms of COVID-19 are receiving treatment at home, while over 16,000 are under supervision at home.
