The election period for the November 30 parliamentary elections starts officially on September 15. Contacted by IPN, secretary of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Andrei Volentir said the Parliament decision on the election date takes effect on September 15.
The election period is the period between the day the election date is made public and the day the election outcome is validated by the Constitutional Court.
From this day, the non-permanent members of the CEC stop doing their main jobs and start working on the commission on a permanent basis, until the election results are validated.
The political parties can present their lists of candidates starting with September 30.
