Moldova enters World Ski Champs

The Olympic season of the Alpine Ski World Championships started with men's giant slalom in the Austrian town of Soelden. Moldova was represented by skier Christophe Roux, Info-Prim Neo reports. The sportsman did not manage to qualify for the second round. At the international competitions Moldova will be represented by three more skiers. Urs Imboden, Sascha Gritsch and Georg Linder hold Moldovan nationality and could perform for Moldova in the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, the alpine skiing competition. Urs Imboden was close to winning a medal at the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympic Games. He represented Switzerland then. Competing for Moldova this year, Imboden finished ninth in the slalom event of the Alpine Ski World Championships, Info-Prim Neo reports.
