The Republic of Moldova expects that instruments that could contribute to the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict will be identified within the reviewed European neighborhood policy, chairman of the parliamentary commission on foreign policy and European integration Igor Corman said in a conference on Friday, after returning from a working visit to Brusses, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the MP, in the extended meeting of the Bureau of the European Parliament Delegation to Euronest, EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Štefan Füle said they will discuss with the neighbors of the EU's neighbors, i.e. Russia.
Igor Corman said the European officials were informed about the agenda of the Alliance for European Integration, which includes the five priorities for the next years, namely: completion of the talks on the Association Agreement with the EU and its implementation; obtaining of a deep and comprehensive free trade agreement; liberalization of the visa regime; Moldova's political association and economic integration with the EU.
“We consider the eastern partnership is an important step towards fulfilling the conditions imposed by the EU. The political cooperation between the foreign and other ministers should be intensified. Those who will implement reforms and achieve result should enjoy greater support from the EU, including financial,” said Igor Corman.
He also said that Moldova should be helped to penetrate the EU markets so that the Moldovan products are known there, and to attract European investments. He added that the European officials believe the efforts made by the partners and the assistance provided by the European authorities must be better coordinated.
The chairman of the parliamentary commission on foreign policy and European integration took part in the extended meeting of the Bureau of the European Parliament Delegation to Euronest and the meeting of the European Parliament Delegation to the EU-Moldova Parliamentary Cooperation Committee held in Brussels.
