Moldova ranks seventh among countries exporting dried plums, with 10,000 tonnes exported last year, IPN reports, with reference to East Fruit.

The main markets for selling Moldovan plums are: Romania, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Italy, Kazakhstan, France, and Morocco.

According to Alexandru Bîcu, marketing specialist at the Moldova Fruct association, the positive dynamics witnessed in recent years underline the importance of maintaining and expanding exports on international markets, as well as Moldova's potential as a producer and exporter of dried plums.

Since 2022, Moldovan producers have been able to export large volumes of apples, garlic, cherries, grape juice, plums, tomatoes and table grapes duty-free. These commercial benefits allow the country to expand its presence on the European market.
