“Moldova is open to Chinese investments, with China being a very important country for us. The relations between Moldova and China developed steadily over the last few years,” first deputy chairman of the Democratic Party (PDM) Vlad Plahotniuc said in a meeting with Deputy Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Zhou Li, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué of the PDM, Vlad Plahotniuc said that this visit will help to further strengthen the economic relations between Moldova and China. He added that the PDM, as a leftwing party, as the CPC, aims to create more jobs for the people and to ensure the country’s prosperity.
For his part, Zhou Li said the PDM is an important party for Moldova’s future. “We saw that the strength of the Democratic Party in your county increases and we approve of the PDM’s readiness to cooperate with China. I hope that this visit will lead to improved communication between our parties and countries,” he stated.
The Chinese official noted that one of the objectives of the International Department of the CPC’s Central Committee is to intensify communication with former Soviet countries, underlining that the PDM is a reliable partner and that China maintains its traditional policy of non-interference in the affairs of other states. “We saw radical political changes taking place in Moldova and we want to assure you that we will support any choice of Moldova or the PDM,” said Zhou Li, referring to the foreign policy options of Moldova and the PDM.
While in China, the leaders of the PDM will have meetings with high-ranking officials of the Communist Party of China, of ministries and governmental agencies and with senior officials of Chinese companies interested in Moldova. The PDM’s delegation in China includes the party’s deputy chairmen Andrian Candu and Pavel Filip, Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure Vasile Botnari, and director of the Economy Ministry’s Public Property Agency Valeriu Triboi.
The delegation of the Democratic Party of Moldova is paying a visit to China between June 2 and June 4.
