Moldova manager Ion Caras is in an optimistic mood ahead of the World Cup qualifier against Ukraine tonight. “The team has recovered after the disastrous opener and the players are looking to rehabilitate themselves in the eyes of fans after the inglorious game against England”, Caras told a pre-match news conference. Caras says a positive outcome will improve the team's morale which has been brought down by a seven-match goalless drought. “We are looking to end this streak. I'm sure that if we score at least once, we will be able to pull out a positive result against Ukraine”. The players are also in fighting trim. “This time we'll do better. The opposite side will underestimate us, and this could work to our advantage. We will fight fiercely”, said skipper Alexandru Epureanu. The only player announced to skip the Ukraine game is defender Igor Armas, who hasn't fully recovered from a brain concussion suffered in a Russian premiership match. Moldova vs. Ukraine will be played tonight at 21:00 at Zimbru Stadiul in Chisinau.
