The public association “Moldova Mea” announced it will ask the U.S. President Barak Obama and European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Štefan Füle not to encourage the propagation of homosexuality and not to intervene in the internal affairs of the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.
In a news conference, the association’s chairman Fiodor Ghelici said that both the U.S. Ambassador to Moldova William Moser and Commissioner Štefan Füle violated the diplomatic principles when they marched on the streets of Chisinau together with the sexual minorities on May 19. They listened only to the voice of the homosexuals, but should have gone to the Great National Assembly Square to find out the position of the faithful who staged a counter-protest.
Fiodor Ghelici read the letters that will be sent to Barak Obama and Štefan Füle and called on the officials to apologize publicly to the Moldova people who promote the traditional family values.
The letter to the U.S. President says that William Moser showed lack of respect towards the majority population who protested against the march of the sexual minorities, ignoring the legislation of Moldova. The ambassador also violated the diplomatic ethics and intervened in the country’s internal affairs.
In the letter to the European official, the signatories thanked the official for his intentions to help Moldova overcome the political crisis, but said that during his visit to Moldova, he behaved like a master of this land. Fiodor Ghelici said that Štefan Füle disappointed the Moldovan people, who started to have doubts over the prospect of joining the European Union. Štefan Füle is also asked to apologize for encouraging the sexual minorities’ march and for ignoring the message of the majority population that is against the propagation of homosexuality.
