The Moldovan wrestlers finished in leading places at the Beach Wrestling World Championships and also at the Senior Beach World Series that took place in the city of Katerini, Greece, during September 17-22, IPN reports.
In the U17 age category, Stanislav Diaconu took the third place. The student of the National Sports Lyceum won the bronze medal in the up to 50 kg weight class.
Ion Berghi, Ion Marcu and Alexandru Borș, in the men’s competition, but also Luciana Beda, in the women’s competition, became world champions in the U20 age category, while Laurențiu Marcu won the title of world vice-champion.
In the Senior Beach World Series, Vasile Diaconu became champion in the up to 80 kg weight class, while Alexandru Borș emerged victorious in the up to 90 kg weight class.
