Twenty players on Moldova's national football team are preparing under the guidance of manager Gabi Balint for the last two Euro 2012 qualifying matches – with the Netherlands on October 7 and San Marino 4 days later, Info-Prim Neo reports. “I don't want to make exaggerated statements, but we have to admit: the Netherlands are the Netherlands, the second best team in the world. We have to run twice as much if we want to obtain a more or less decent result”, stated Gabi Balint at a news conference. As for squad changes, Balint renounced the services of Alexei Savinov, Vadim Boret and Maxim Copelciuc. While admitting that his pupils had small odds of squeezing a positive result out of the encounter with Netherlands, Balint promised Moldova would make it up to the fans in the match with San Marino on home ground. “In the last qualifying game I want my players to forget everything and obtain a victory for the fans, so that we can say a winning farewell to this qualifying campaign”, said Gabi Balint. Moldova are now placed 5th in their qualifying group with six 6 points, as the Netherlands are at the top with an already secured place in the next phase. Last fall Moldova got defeated at home by Holland 1-0.
