Passenger train services on the route connecting Chisinau to the Romanian border city of Iasi will be resumed starting tomorrow, sooner than originally planned, Moldova Railways announced.
The only train assigned to the route will run on Fridays, departing from Chisinau at 6:40AM and arriving in Iasi at 11:13AM, with the return journey leaving at 5:40PM and arriving at 9:52PM.
The route has been suspended for more than a year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
A Moldova Railways spokesperson told IPN the resumption of the Iasi route ahead of schedule is not in connection with the situation in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, the train connecting Chisinau to the Ukrainian city of Odessa will continue to operate as usual, on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays.
