Moldova reaches Eurovision final

Moldova’s Eurovision hopeful Nelly Ciobanu has qualified for the great final that will take place on May 16 at the Olimpiysky Sports Complex in Moscow, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Nelly Ciobanu’s song “Hora din Moldova” (“Moldovan Round Dance”) was chosen by spectators from the countries that participated in the May 14 second semifinal by telephone voting. She performed the fifteenth, accompanied on the stage by four dancers from the academic pop dances group “Joc” and singer Gicu Cimbir.
Besides Moldova, Azerbaijan, Croatia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Albania, Denmark, Estonia, Norway and Greece also went trough to the final.
The 54th Eurovision Song Contest is held in Moscow as Dima Bilan won the 2008 edition in Belgrade.
Moldova participates in the contest for the fifth time in a row. Zdob si Zdub represented Moldova in 2005 and ranked sixth. In 2006 in Athens, the duo Arsenium and Natalia Gordienco finished the 20th. Natalia Barbu ranked tenth in 2007, while last year Geta Burlacu did not qualify for the final.
