Moldova on March 4 begin to import natural gas from Romania, through the Iasi-Ungheni gas pipeline. The information was confirmed for IPN by the press service of the Ministry of Economy.
The Iasi-Ungheni gas pipeline was inaugurated on the Independence Day on August 27, 2014, one year after the initiation of its construction.
On March 2, the Administration Board of the National Agency for Energy Regulation decided that the company Vestmoldtransgaz, which manages the Iasi – Ungheni gas pipeline on Moldova’s territory, will charge a tax of 20.90 lei per 1 000 cubic meters for the transportation of natural gas. The price for end-users is not yet known.
