Moldova teams up with NATO to organize training sessions

Moldova, in partnership with the NATO, will organize in early autumn two training seminars on combating the traffic of arms and dual-use items, Info-Prim Neo reports . “During September-October, a workshop dedicated to the implementation of Resolution 1540 of UN Security Council. Another session, on the topic of environmental safety and obsolete pesticide management, will be coordinated by the Moldovan Academy of Sciences”, NATO spokesperson Oana Lungescu told a press briefing. Oana Lungescu noted Moldova’s efforts in getting closer to the European Union, saying that the NATO and the EU have common interests in Moldova’s democratic development. “Ultimately, Moldova’s future is European integration”, the NATO spokesperson stated. Moldova is a fundamental partner of the North-Atlantic Alliance and NATO allies continue to support the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova, added Oana Lungescu. Moldova’s cooperation with the NATO started 20 years ago, when Moldova joined the North-Atlantic Cooperation Council.
