A number of consignments of assistance designed to help weather the COVID-19 infection will reach Moldova this week. Such assistance already came from the World Health Organization and is yet to come from China and the Russian Federation, IPN reports.
President Igor Dodon said a consignment of medical assistance from China will get to Moldova in the second half of this week. Assistance is also expected from the Russian Federation this week.
In another development, President Dodon said the Chisinau City Hall collected over 1 million lei, while the Ministry of Finance about 1.5 million lei on the accounts opened to raise funds for preventing the spread of COVID-19.
The official noted that the acquisitions that are not strictly necessary for the activity of institutions during the state of emergency were blocked. Investments in infrastructure will continue to be made.
