The Republic of Moldova will receive one more donation of medical equipment from the Romanian authorities. This will consist of 500,000 masks, 50,000 sets of protective clothing and medicines used to treat patients infected with COVID-19, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania Bogdan Aurescu stated in a press briefing in Chisinau held alongside Prime Minister Ion Chicu, IPN reports.
The Romanian official said the visit paid to Chisinau, together with the medial team of Romania, is a message for the Moldovan citizens that the Romanian authorities are near them in need and that Romania is solidary not only with the soul, but also physically.
Bogdan Aurescu reminded of the importance of the support provided by the EU, which is an irreplaceable partner for the Republic of Moldova, and assured that Romania will continue to support Moldova’s European integration objective, which is the only way for ensuring the economic and social welfare of the Moldovan citizens.
For his part, Premier Chicu highly appreciated the relations between Moldova and Romania and thanked for the assistance offered by the Government of Romania for modernizing schools and kindergartens, for solving the transport problem of students and for implementing other important social projects. He invited the Romanian companies to invest in Moldova by taking part in the privatization program for 2020 launched by the Government.
