Moldova wins animation Grand Prize at Art Amphora Festival

Five short animations made by children and youths from Moldova as part of My Family Project won the Grand Prize for animation at the Balkan Festival for Films and Television “Art Amphora” held in Bulgaria, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a press release from the festival participant Artistudio. Film studios and television enterprises from 13 countries – including Bulgaria, France, the United States, Germany, Russia, Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ukraine and other countries – competed in the following categories: Features, Animations, Documentaries, TV Programs, and Shorts. Moldova presented five pieces out of 44 participating – “Puisorii” (“The Chicks”), “Paper Dream”, “Nimeni, nimeni singur nu-i” (“No one is alone”), “Tapusele” (“Little Hands”) and “Melcul” (“The Snail”). Germany won Art Amphora's grand prize for features and Bulgaria won the grand prize for documentaries. The XI Balkan Festival Art Amphora was held in the mountain resort of Bansko and Bulgaria's capital, Sofia during September 26-30. The association Artistudio was created in Moldova in 2002 to promote animation.
