Moldovan Football Federation sums up results

The Executive Committee of the Moldovan Football Federation (MFF) at a working meeting held on December 9 described the performance of men’s U-21, U-19, U-17 and women’s U-19 and U-17 national squads as unsatisfactory, the Federation’s president Pavel Cebanu announced at a summing up news conference, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. Cebanu said the fate of the coach of the first national team will be decided in the near future. He expressed his satisfaction with the fact that all the teams competing in the internal championship continue work despite difficulties. He praised Sheriff Tiraspol for the results achieved in the UEFA Europa League. A positive event this year is the fact that the stadium of the training base in Vadul-lui-Voda was 90% finished. “Only the plastic seats are yet to be installed. We plan to hold the traditional MFF Junior Teams’ Cup there next year,” Pavel Cebanu said. Among the negative moments is the refusal of a number of Moldovan footballers to defend the colors of the national squad. The Moldovan Football 2009 Gala will take place at the Opera House in Chisinau on Friday, December 11. There will be awarded the best Moldovan footballers, coaches and referees.
