This year, the Moldovan inventors won over 90 gold, silver and bronze medals at prestigious international invention fairs. The diplomas and distinctions were handed over to them before the World Intellectual Property Day marked on April 26. This year, the day’s focus is on promoting green innovation as the key to a secure future, Info-Prim Neo reports. The award ceremony was organized by the State Agency on Intellectual Property of Moldova (AGEPI). At the International Invention Show “Pro-Invent” held in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, the Moldovan team of inventors displayed 72 exhibits and won 25 golds, 27 silvers and 17 bronzes. Constantin Spanu, vice director of the Preventive Medicine Center and national coordinator of the show, said that these medals represent a step towards integration into the European community. At the International Industrial Property Fair “Arhimede” in Moscow, Russia, the Moldovan inventors were awarded 4 gold medals and 5 silver medals. The inventors from Moldova also won 3 golds, 6 silvers and 3 bronzes at the International Exhibition of Inventions, New Techniques and Products in Geneva, Switzerland. Diplomas and trophies were also awarded to the holders of 4 golds and 2 silvers won at the World Inventions Fair in Brussels, where academicians Pavel Godoroja and Valeriu Dulgheru were honored with Orders of Knight and, respectively, of Commander for productive inventive work by the Kingdom of Belgium. The inventors were awarded for accomplishments in such areas as medicine, beekeeping, nanotechnology, environment protection, etc. AGEPI director Dorian Chirosca told the press that the invention sector in Moldova develops steadily. “We will further work to put these inventions into practice. We are sure that our inventors are good innovators. Now, when we experience a crisis situation, the inventions and innovations will be the ones to contribute to the development of the country’s industry and economy,” Chirosca said.
