Moldovan Metropolitan Church awards film director and three journalists

The Moldovan Metropolitan Church conferred the Pious Paisie Velichkovski Order on film director Valeriu Jereghi in gratitude for laborious work in promoting the Orthodox Church. The order was handed over by His Holiness Vladimir, Metropolitan Bishop of Chisinau and All Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Bishop praised the Moldovan director for the results achieved in film-making. In his speech, Valeriu Jereghi thanked His Holiness Vladimir for the order, saying he was very glad that after winning 11 awards at prestigious international festivals, the movie “Arrividerci” was finally awarded at home. He said the Pious Paisie Velichkovski Order is the only award that the movie received in Moldova, stressing he was glad that it came from the Orthodox Church. His Holiness Vladimir also awarded the Pious Parascheva Medal to Elena Robu of PRO TV Chisinau, Livia Lupascu of the public TV channel Moldova 1 and Eleonora Culac of the public radio station Radio Moldova. He said it was already a tradition to award those who promote the interests of the Orthodox religion, adding a number of people of culture will be decorated after Easter.
