Moldovan policeman saves Russian kid's life

A Chisinau police officer has been hailed as a hero after saving the life of a 2-year-old girl, a Russian national, in an incident in Chisinau last week, Info-Prim Neo reports. The girl was chasing a balloon and, when her mother and grandmother got less attentive, she found herself in the middle of a road, right in the way of a trolleybus. The women panicked and started to scream, which frightened the girl even more, leaving her paralyzed. Luckily, a police officer saw the incident and managed to stop the vehicle seconds before a potential impact. On her return to Russia, the girl's mother wrote to the Moldovan Ministry of Interiors to express her gratitude. The police officer who saved the girl currently works at the Center for Fighting Trafficking in Humans and has been an Interior Ministry employee since 1993.
