Moldovan scientists devise maps showing radiation regime of heat resources

Researchers of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova worked out a set of maps that show the radiation regime of the heat resources. They can be used to assess the heat resources at farms, in administrative districts or all over the country, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Academy’s press service. The maps were devised by the research team of the climatology laboratory of the Institute of Ecology and Geography. The obtained results serve as scientific-informational support in assessing the agro-climatic potential in general and the heat resources in particular, taking into account the global climate change. When estimating the heat resources at different levels (local or national), the specialist with the help of scientists will have the possibility of increasing the productivity of certain groups of agricultural crops. The maps will be used to compile the Digital Map of Climatic Resources of Moldova.
