Parliament voted again the protocol to amend the agreement on cooperation in the military sphere between the Government of Moldova and the Government of Romania that was signed in Bucharest on December 1, 2016.
The document was ratified by Parliament on March 30 this year, but wasn’t promoted by President Igor Dodon. Now that it was voted again by the legislative body, this takes effect without being promulgated by the Head of State, IPN reports.
The protocol envisions several technical changes in the intergovernmental agreement on the military sector signed with the Romanian side in 2012 and specifies that in case of joint military exercises, the host country will provide the personnel of the other country with food free of charge.
Also, the sides, in accordance with their internal law, will organize and conduct training and joint or multinational exercises with units of other partner states.
The document says this is an opportunity for strengthening the mutually advantageous cooperation relations in the long run in accordance with the international law norms and the national legislation.
