Moldovan tennis players grab first wins

Moldovan tennis players Radu Albot and Roman Borvanov successfully began their campaign in the Challenger circuit tournaments, which takes place this week, Info-Prim Neo reports. In the first round, Radu Albot bested Serbia’s Marco Djokovici, brother of the world’s top tennis player Novak Djokovici, 6-4, 6-3. The 22 year old’s next opponent will be Russia’s Alexandr Kudryavtsev. Last month, Albot won two ITF Futures tournaments and reached the 235th position in the world rankings, the best result in Moldovan tennis. In Guadalajara, Mexico, Borvanov pulled an upset by eliminating second favorite, Germany’s Matthias Bachinger, 6-4, 6-4. Borvanov will next face the hosts’ representative Miguel Angel Reyes-Varela.
