A 25 year old man was arrested in Cupcini vilage, Edinet district, with over 20,000 cigarette packs of various local brands. Elsewhere, another Moldovan tried to cross the border with over 9000 cigarettes in his luggage, IPN reports.
The police found some inconsistencies in the certificates of origin presented by the 25 year old and arrested him for further investigation, according to the National Patrol Inspectorate .
In the second case, a 32 year old man tried to board a plane to Milano with a bag full of cigarettes. He received a 3000 lei fine and the cigarettes were seized.
The Customs Service informs that the man paid his fine immediately and boarded the plane.
