Moldovans with Romanian nationality expected to take part in referendum Oct. 6-7

The Romanian citizens who have the domicile or residence in the Republic of Moldova on October 6 and 7 are expected to the 35 polling places established all over the country to take part in the referendum on the revision of the Constitution of Romania. Polling places will work from 7am until 9pm, IPN reports.

At the referendum, the voters will answer with “YES” or “NO” a question concerning the starting of a family between a man and a woman, not between spouses as it is provided at present.

To take part in the referendum, the voters should be aged 18 and over. The Romanian citizens with the domicile in Romania, who will be abroad on the referendum days, and the Romanian citizens with the domicile or residence in the Republic of Moldova can vote at the polling places established abroad with the following papers: identity card; temporary identity card; electronic identity card, diplomatic passport; electronic diplomatic passport; service passport; electronic service passport; simple passport and electronic simple passport; temporary simple passport and simple passport showing the place of domicile, electronic simple passport showing the place of domicile and the temporary simple passport showing the place of domicile.
