The rail services of Moldova last month sustained losses of 30% compared with the corresponding period last year owing to the difficult situation in Ukraine.
Deputy Minister of Transport Vladimir Cebotari has told IPN that all the transport services of Moldova were affected because of the uncertain situation in the region, but the rail services were the worst-hit.
Most of the goods transported to Ukraine by rail from Moldova or by transiting the country’s territory are taken to the industrial regions Donetsk and Dnepropetrovsk, which now do not have the same output as before the crisis.
