Moldtelecom increases fixed-line phone tariffs

Moldtelecom will adjust the fixed-line phone tariffs by the end of this year as the real costs of the services provided are higher, the director of the national electronic communications regulator (ANRCETI) Sergiu Satnic told a news conference on April 20. “Moldtelecom and the ANRCETI are exchanging information and will take a decision as regards the structure of the packages and the size of the tariffs,” Sergiu Satnic said. Moldtelecom commercial director Ion Rosca said the price of the Standard package will be set in the near future. It will be used to calculate the price of the other packages. The Economy package that includes 200 minutes and costs 6 lei will be renamed Social. Ion Rosca also said that the tariffs on phone conversations inside the country will be increased, but those on international conversations reduced. The tariff adjustment plan includes four stages, two of which have been fulfilled. There are three main types of packages at present: Standard, Economy and Concessions.
