The play “I'm Afraid of the Black Sea” directed by Vitalie Drucec had its premiere in the “Valeriu Cupcea” hall of the National Theater “Mihai Eminescu” on September 28 and 29.
“I'm Afraid of the Black Sea” by Irina Nechit's play “Nudists” is about a woman educated by her mother to bear and forgive. She was admitted to a lunatic asylum after she shot dead her aggressive husband.
“The play urges to be strong and not to tolerate aggressiveness in society,” author Irina Nechit told Info-Prim Neo.
The dress rehearsal of the monodrama performed by Diana Decuseara, a pupil of the late Veneamin Apostol, was in May. Irina Nechit said Diana Decuseara has been on stage since 2003, but has been discovered by theater directors only now.
Diana Decuseara has performed in a monodorama for the first time. “I have confidence in myself. My partner is me. I am the main character and the public helps me,” she said.
The scrip was written by Tatiana Popescu, while the sound was controlled by Sandu Tarsu. The play will be staged again late in October.
