A monument to Moldovan Ruler Dimitrie Cantemir will be placed on the territory of the state reservation-museum “Tsaritsino” in Moscow, Russia. The issue was discussed by Minister of Culture Monica Babuc and Russian Ambassador to Moldova Farit Mukhametshin in a meeting on August 1, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué from the Ministry of Culture.

The sides pledged to make effort to finish this project by this yearned. Another subject discussed was the organization of the Russian Culture Days in Moldova at the end of this October, and of the Moldovan Culture Days in Russia next April – May. Monica Babuc proposed instituting working groups that would deal with the organization of these cultural events.

The minister welcomed the interest of the International Confederation of the Union of Plastic Artists of Russia in financing the printing of the album “Contemporary Art in Moldova”, which presents the potential of the Moldovan contemporary art.

Farit Mukhametshin underlined the necessity of giving an additional impetus to designing a new cooperation program between the Governments of Moldova and Russia in the humanitarian field..

The same day, Monica Babuc had a meeting with Swedish Ambassador to Moldova Ingrid Tersman, where there was discussed the possibility of Sweden financing the organization of an archeological research site near Varnita village, where there was localized the military camp of King Charles XII of Sweden.

Ingrid Tersman expressed interest in further supporting such activities and in making fact –finding and experience exchange visits centering on the restoration of the cultural patrimony and the preparation of staff in the field.
