The sculptural composition “Stone for Peace” in memory of the victims of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and in connection with the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Moldovan-Japanese relations was put up in the municipality of Chisinau. The Cabinet on December 19 approved a draft decision on the unveiling of the sculpture, IPN reports.
The composition is situated in the square of the State University of Moldova and conveys a message. The costs associated with the designing and building of the sculpture and with the laying out of the adjoining area are covered with donations and sponsorships.
According to the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, such compositions exist in over 100 countries, being built on the initiative of the Japanese Association “Stone for Peace”.
