More people rushed to hospital for injuries during holidays

The most usual problems that bring people to the Emergency Hospital during the holidays are injuries caused by physical violence, Oleg Codreanu, head of the Hospitalization Ward of the Chisinau Emergency Hospital, told Info-Prim Neo. According to the doctor, patients often come with face bone fractures or head and brain traumas. “This year we had no cases of injuries caused by fireworks or firecrackers. From last years’ experience, we know that 5-6 cases like this usually occur during holidays”, said Oleg Codreanu. Doctors recommend people to be careful with eating and drinking on New Year’s Eve and to protect their eyes from crackers and champagne corks. Petru Cravet, spokesman of the National Center of Emergency Medicine, informed that 50 medical units would work on New Year’s Eve and their number could be supplemented in exceptional situations.
