More than 473,000 trees and bushes will be planted by Greening Day

The central and local authorities intend to plant about 473,000 trees and bushes on an area of 120 hectares by the Greening Day, which is marked this year on April 17. “Saplings will be planted mainly in the areas affected by erosion,” Deputy Minister of the Environment Lazar Chirica told Info-Prim Neo. The deputy minister recommends the local public authorities to start planting trees on March 27. There will be planted oak trees, ash tress, maple trees, acacias and other decorative trees. The samplings will be bough with money from the local budgets and the National Ecological Fund. The costs are estimated at 560,000 lei. Cleaning and sanitation works are traditionally carried out in Moldova in spring. New trees are planted in woods, parks and public gardens.
