Communist MP Elena Bodnarenco, who was repeatedly summoned by the National Anticorruption Center for being questioned as a witness over her public statements about an alleged corruption attempt, didn’t present herself at the Center on March 15 because she is on a business trip, IPN reports.
According to the National Anticorruption Center, an adviser of the MP told the prosecution officer dealing with this case that Elena Bodnarenco will return from her trip on March 19.
The Center said the MP was summoned to be questioned over her statements on March 10. The summons could not be handed over to Elenei Bodnarenco personally because she didn’t answer the phone. Therefore, the summons was placed in her mailbox. On the fixed day, Elena Bodnarenco didn’t present herself at the Center.
At the beginning of March, the MP said in a TV program that a lawmaker of the Democratic Party tried to corrupt her so that she left the Party of Communists (PCRM). “They offered me a large, six-digit sum for voting the Filip Government and leaving the PCRM. If I had chosen posts for myself or someone from my family, the sum would have been lower,” she stated then.
