The June 8 sitting of Parliament ended after 8:30pm after the 61 Socialist and ACUM MPs adopted a number of legislative proposals. The sitting will continue on June 9, starting at 9am, IPN reports.
In today’s meeting, the MPs gave a first reading to the bill by which the President is transferred back the power to manage the State Guard and Protection Service and to name the Service’s director.
Another bill passed by the MPs refers to the dismissal of the director of the National Anticorruption Center, which is to blame for the payment of €2,5 million damage by the state based on ECHR judgements, according to the authors. The bill concerning the dismissal of the director of the Security and Intelligence Service was adopted by an unanimous vote.
The 61 MPs also constituted the administrative bodies of Parliament, naming Zinaida Grecheanyi as Speaker, and gave a vote of confidence to the Cabinet headed by Maia Sandu.
Earlier today, following a challenge filed by Democratic MPs, the Constitutional Court decided that all the legislative acts adopted by the MPs on June 8 are unconstitutional.
