The veterans who took part in the war for defending the territorial integrity and independence of the Republic of Moldova will get a lump sum of 2,500 lei in aid in 2022. If these died, the money will be offered to parents or widows, as a bill adopted by Parliament in the final reading stipulates, IPN reports.
The period of participation in the armed conflict, between March 2 and August 13, 1992, will be included in the contributory period in proportion of 1 to 3. About 10,000 persons will benefit from this provision.
The Moldovan war veterans who were conferred state awards, including of the former USSR, will benefit from a nominal allocation either they receive pension or a state social allowance or not, even if they do not live in the Republic of Moldova.
In the same sitting, the MPs passed a bill providing that the veterans and other participants in World War II will receive allowances higher by 300 lei. The state allowance is raised from 950 to 1,250 lei.
