The seven Liberal-Democrats who were excluded from the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group said the party’s acting chairman Valeriu Strelet chose to continue to destroy the party through his personal frustration, IPN reports.

In a statement issued by Stefan Creanga, who is one of the seven MPs, it is said that the acting leadership of the PLDM understood nothing of the struggles that are now witnessed in Moldova. The leadership preferred to apply the ‘ostrich practice’ and to remain deaf to the appeals to ensure minimal political stability in these very difficult moments for the country.

Stefan Creanga says that instead of putting the party’s reformation to the vote, Valeriu Strelet chose to deny the opinion of the local organizations and of half of the group. “Instead of putting to the vote the repeatedly asked exclusion of those who directly took part in the capturing of the state by adopting amendments to laws or subscribing to Government decisions, Valeriu Strelet chose to take revenge on those who have different political views on the current political situation and who do not put the personal interests above everything,” reads the statement.

The MPs note that now that the parties of the right are discredited or yet weak, the avoidance of early legislative elections would offer time to strengthen the right and to prevent forces that do not promote the country’s interests from coming to power. “We consider the participation in protests alongside Usatyi and Dodon represents betrayal of the interests of the Republic of Moldova in these extremely difficult political moments,” says the statement.

The PLDM decided to exclude the seven Liberal-Democratic MPs from the group after these voted for the Filip Government. Lib-Dem Valeriu Giletski also gave his vote in favor, but this didn’t join the parliamentary coalition and wasn’t excluded.
